Sean Is Apparently Growing Up

So this weekend was fun filled and action packed. Not as much as a action movie, per say. But still pretty awesome.

Friday night I stayed late at the office. But it wasn't work related. From six till about nine we played a card game called Super Munchkin. Now despite the name, this is one of the funnest games I've played in a while. It's a game where you play a super hero, and you're trying to get yourself to level ten. Of course, since the first person to reach level ten wins, everyone is also trying to get there, and kick you down a level or two at the same time. This means you're in for a fun game of deal making ( and breaking ), screwing your friends over, and a generally fun time. After that, we headed to Malones Bar for a drink before heading home. A pretty good night.

But wait, it gets better. Saturday morning at 11:30am I met the person who bought my Jeep at an insurance place downtown. After much paper work -- including re-registering my Jeep for $18 so I'd have my insurance papers on hand ( forgot them at home ) -- the changed owners. I now have to get used to talking about the Jeep in the past tense, and stop calling it "my Jeep". I'm kind of sad, but also pretty stoked. Why, you ask?

Because now I get to move downtown. On Sunday morning I called a few places, and ended up going to an open house at 1pm. The apartment is located at 1424 Nelson St, which is right where I want to be. After taking a look at two apartments, I chose one and filled out an application form. Now I'm just waiting to hear back, with crossed fingers. After they check some references and do a credit check, the apartment is mine. The only thing I'm worried about is the credit check, but with any luck ( and some good karma ) I should be fine.

Now I just have to figure out what I'm doing for my 23rd birthday this Friday ( on the 23rd of January, no less ), and I'm set.

Man, I'm starting to feel all mature and grown-up. This is kinda scary, but also very exciting. Although I'll still have to be completely goofy from time to time, otherwise I may just lose my street cred.

  • I've totally heard all about that game and seen it in stores... it looked a little expensive though so I didn't bother.
    And don't worry... 23 ain't old. 21 was.
